…magic is what LaplandUK does very well. And all that without getting on a plane - it's a great alternative!
It really does cast a Christmas spell- it's beautifully doneThe Sunday Times travel - Dec 2008 - Stephen Bleau
We are led down a forest path towards a log cabin. It is dark now. The trees are covered in snow and fairy lights twinkle in the branches. The big moment has arrived. We are ushered into the cabin and there he is, with a real white beard and everything. It is a magical moment.
It felt like walking out of the wardrobe into Narnia.
There was an excellent home made lunch of bangers and mash or cottage pie plus apple crumble.
LaplandUK isn’t cheap but it’s a bargain compared to the real thing. There’s no queuing plus you don’t have to worry about your carbon footprint from flying.
LaplandUK isn’t a glitzy Disneyland style attraction. The emphasis is on a simple traditional Christmas.
Kids and parents alike will lap up Lapland.
Children were transported into a fantasy world where elves darted behind giant mushrooms, owls hooted in the distance and the fir trees on the winding paths were sprinkled with snow.
It felt as though we had been transported to a different world.
In the warmth of the cabin, the whiskery - cheeked maestro dispensed his special Christmas magic, somehow knowing that one of them sang in the church choir and the other preferred singing pop songs.
The perfect end to a magical afternoon.

For the ultimate Christmas experience, look no further than LaplandUK. Charming, enjoyable and packed with festive fun, it is a real treat for anyone wishing to celebrate the season of goodwill. The People - Dec 2008
Your audience with Father Christmas couldn’t be more idyllic. The elves escort you along enchanted paths to a log cabin where Santa awaits with knowledge of what they want for Christmas and their favourite things.
Of course, there’s also family fun on the ice with the help of some mischievous elves to finish a perfect day.
Daily Star - Nov 2008 - Clair Bussey
Real food, warm and wholesome- it’s a heartening meal worth going all the way to the North Pole for!Dea Birkett’s Eating with Kids
This Narnia-like land is actually in Kent, yet offers everything a child (and adult) could wish for at Christmas. This is a day that will be treasured forever. The English Home - Dec 2008
As we headed for the car it struck me I hadn’t had to tell the children off once. There had been no tears or tantrums and both agreed it was "the best day ever"
For anyone considering paying heavily to go to the real Lapland this has to be a sensible alternative. A day of pure escapism and one we will all remember.
Kent Messenger - Helen Geraghty
Skating around a Christmas tree in the middle of an ice rink, with the lights from snow dusted log cabins twinkling prettily around us, I could really believe that I was in Lapland.
Most impressive was the overall feeling of quality- there was not a hint of tackiness or tat. We were all genuinely impressed by how charming, fun and tasteful the whole experience turned out to be.
This was one of the best daytrips we have ever done as a family
Gloucestershire News - Dec 2008 - Alison Dhonau
You could book yourself a flight to the real Lapland, but as it has been recreated so brilliantly so close to home, why bother? This is Kent - Nov 2008 - Caroline Jubb

THE MAGIC OF LAPLAND
After a losing a battle with cancer my father died last year just before Christmas, this had a huge impact on my children and so, as a special treat and to try to make Christmas magical even without Gramps, we took them on their first 'flight' to Lapland Uk.
My two weary children, who had coped with so much in the months leading up to Christmas, entered a magical place and were awe struck! You created a magical world, a true children's paradise. It's simplicity is just perfect, with enough detail to guide but not drown the imagination. It can be all you want it to be & everything more. The post office was wonderful, the little elves doors beautiful The woodland paths beautifully authentic, the snow, the ice rink - put magic-icing on the cake - WONDERFUL! Lunch was brilliant, I loved the ramekins with all the dishes in! Mulled wine - genius! Huskies - real & furry stuffed - lovely - both of my children (8 & 5) went to bed with them, clutching them tightly and still do almost a year later!
Thank you for reminding my children that Christmas is beautiful and life goes on. Lapland UK showed them hope & fun so gently and with the eyes of a child in mind at all times. My two are now firm believers and ready for Christmas this year without their special Gramps!!
Merry christmas to you wonderful magical people!

"Miracle at LaplandUK"
Just like the scene in the classic movie "Miracle on 34th Street" a little deaf boy visiting Father Christmas was amazed to find clever Father Christmas knew sign language and made his Christmas dreams come true by signing their whole meeting.
A magical memory the whole family will never forget.....Father Christmas really does exist!
Father Christmas "will you marry us?"
Simon wanted to find a magical way to propose to his partner Kerry so what could be better than having Father Christmas pull the engagement ring from his sack?
Simon and Kerry married at Gretna Green in July and their story is currently featured in Nov-Dec's Tesco Magazine.
The Foster Mum's story
We have many special foster parents who visit us every year and write to tell us of the impact a trip to LaplandUK has on the children in their care.
One special little girl with many challenges had an emotional breakthrough after meeting Father Christmas. So profound was the impact of Father Christmas that it inspired foster Mum Claire to travel from Oxford to address 300 LaplandUK staff members on the importance of their work.
Claire visited us again this year- with 9 foster children!
Davy's Story
The LaplandUK team was privileged to meet Davy last year who visited us on our Demelza House charity day.
Davy is a fun loving lad bravely facing a terminal illness so it was our absolute pleasure to grant his wish of returning to LaplandUK again this year.
Davy had a wonderful day with us and we all wish him and his family a very happy Christmas.
